Carole Wolfe Korngold
Chairperson
Our chairperson, Carole Wolfe Korngold, is the leading educator
and advocate for Montessori in this country. Carole received the
top honor at the 40th annual Montessori convention in New York.
She has trained over 4,000 Montessori teachers, and has served as
the President of the American Montessori Society. She is a nationally
recognized and respected leader in her profession.
Carole Wolfe Korngold is the Executive Director of the Center for
Montessori Education/NY, which runs CMTE/NY; the Montessori Children's
Center at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, a model all-day Montessori
child care program; and Montessori Home, Inc., a newly formed company
dedicated to bringing quality Montessori products to the home. She
is internationally recognized for elevating the quality of education
in private and public schools, child-care centers and Montessori
teacher training. Past President of the American Montessori Society,
she participated in the White House conference on Early Childhood
Development and Learning, Co-Chaired the Montessori International
Congress in Rome, Italy, and she has been honored with the AMS Living
Legacy Award for the year 2000. An active, committed leader of the
Montessori community since 1965, Ms. Korngold lectures around the
world, sharing her passion for the joy and promise of Montessori.
Carole has an M.A. (Manhattanville College), an AMS Early Childhood
credential (Albany), and an AMS Infant and Toddler credential (CMTE/NY).

Virginia Varga
Educational Consultant
Virginia (Ginny) Varga is founder, Administrator, and Director of
Gloria Dei Montessori School in Dayton, OH. Ginny is an internationally
known Infant and Toddler specialist. She began the first Montessori
Toddler Class in the United States in 1966. A member of the school
consultation team of AMS since 1966, she served on the AMS National
Board of Directors from 1964-1972. She has a B.S. in education (University
of Dayton) and an AMS/AMI credential (Greenwich). Ginny was inducted
into the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame. In 1999 she received an Honorary
Ph.D. from the University of Dayton, Dayton, OH.

Carol Schwab
Educational Consultant
Carol Schwab, a reading specialist and veteran Montessori teacher
of children ranging in age from three through junior high, currently
works as a mentor, lecturer, and consultant. Carol has an M.A. in
Montessori education (Xavier University), an Education Specialist
in Administration (University of Dayton), an AMS Early Childhood
credential (Xavier University), an AMS Elementary 6-12 credential
(CMTE/NY), and an AMS Research credential.

R.D. Korngold
Founder and Publisher
Bob Korngold has spent his career in technology, creating and introducing
a wide variety of computer applications including: Visigroup, the
first newsletter for Visicalc Users; the first use of spreadsheets
for major companies to do their sales reporting; PC talk radio,
one of the original talk shows on computers; Megavoice the originator
of 777-Film and the largest single telephone promotion ever: the
Diet Pepsi 3 million dollar Super Bowl give-away, in which 2 million
contestants practically downed the ATT phone line network. Today,
Bob is developing Internet related communities and technological
add-ons for LearnToReadOnline and MontessoriHome, Inc.

Karen Au-Yeung
Illustrator, Flash Programmer
Karen Au-Yeung is the animator and character designer of "Ducky
La T". Karen was born in Hong Kong and studied Graphic Design
and Animation at Hong Kong Polytechnic /Swire School of Design.
For the past 9 years, she has worked as a special effect animator
in the film industry and illustrator for several magazines in Hong
Kong. Now she works as a flash animator and web designer in Canada.

Gilles Muys
e-Business Technology Coordinator
A French native, Gilles Muys has been working with computers and
programming for over 23 years, after winning a national contest
in France in 1977, at age 13. After obtaining a post-graduate degree
from the IECS (Graduate School of Business in Strasbourg, France),
Gilles has combined business and financial expertise with his passion
for information technologies. Currently working for one of the top
100 industrial groups in the world, as e-Business Technology Manager
of a $3 billion subsidiary, Gilles also works as a freelancer and
offers web design and programming services, with a heavy focus on
e-Commerce and database-related applications.

Christopher Furey
Web Hosting
Chris developed the strategic vision and business strategy to launch
SavvySpace.com, Westchester's largest Internet data center, in January
2000. As an IT Industry veteran with over 20 years of technical
and management experience, Mr. Furey has worked at the executive
level developing Information Systems and IT management strategies
for large corporate clients and hundreds of small and mid-sized
companies. An expert systems architect and engineer, Chris holds
certifications from Novell, Intel, Microsoft and 3Com. Mr. Furey
serves as one of the twelve founding members of Intel's North American
ISP Advisory Council and is on the Board of Directors for the Westchester
IT Cluster. Chris first joined the on-line community with a 110
baud modem back in 1981.

Robert G. Gardner
Writer-Editor
Robert Gardner is a widely recognized authority and expert in writing,
editing, and marketing communications for academic, corporate, and
government organizations. He holds a BA in Pre-Law Political Science
and Economics, with honors (Widener University), a Master¹s
degree in English (University of New Mexico), an MS in Technical
and Professional Communication (New Mexico State University), and
a doctorate in Communications (University of Maryland, LaSalle University).
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Bob has over 20 years
of progressive technical and marketing communication experience,
holding full-time advisory staff and management positions with world-leading,
Fortune 100 Information Technology corporations such as RCA, General
Electric, and Computer Sciences Corporation. Currently, Bob is a
senior member of the advisory staff for a wireless telecommunications
start-up company in the Philadelphia area. He is also founder and
president of Gardner Communications, a web-based consulting firm
specializing in technical and marketing communication development
for small businesses and start-ups.

Peter Webb
Researcher (Our British Crown Representative)
Peter Webb is a political science graduate (University of York,
1973) and holds a Master's degree in economics and politics (University
of London, 1975). Following 10 years in Her Majesty's Diplomatic
Service (the British foreign service), with tours of duty in London
and Hong Kong, he held senior positions in the government of the
Channel Island of Guernsey. As a policy and economic analyst in
London, Hong Kong and the Channel Islands, he provided expert advice
on strategic, corporate, policy and economic planning. He currently
lives in the south of England, where he owns and operates internet-based
professional management and editorial consultancy services.

John Gallagher
Creative Director
John Gallagher is the Creative Director of LTROL, Inc,., responsible
for supervising the design and programming teams. He is the creator
of Ms. Ducky LaT, the world's only Duckbilled LTROLapus. Gallagher
brings LTROL a solid background in marketing, writing, producing,
and computer programming. He has served as President and Creative
Director of Saatchi and Saatchi Promotions, Cybersapien Entertainment
(internet gaming company), and the Grossman Gallagher Group (advertising
and promotion agency). Gallagher spent many years creating advertising
and marketing programs for parents and children. Clients have included
AOL, McDonalds, Burger King, Nabisco, Sunshine, and Mattel Electronics.
Gallagher is currently the editor-publisher of numerous websites
including in-nyc.com, marriedmensmilitia.com and psychward.net.
Gallagher has written plays that were produced in New York and Chicago,
written and produced a tv pilot for ABC-TV, won a Cable Ace for
a teleplay of one of his one act dramas, and exec produced an all-star
Ella Fitzgerald benefit concert at Lincoln Center.

Albert Lewis, Jr. &
Anne Nathalie Lewis
Lewis Creative
Lewis Creative is the design studio behind ltrol and learn to read
online design efforts from the web to the printed page. Albert was
educated at Pratt Institute of Art and Design and FIT and is the
founder of Lewis Creative. Albert has pursued many creative lines
from illustration to poetry to music and creative writing. Anne
has been involved in art and design for quite some time as well. She
has attended classes and courses at FIT as well as Pratt Institute
of Art and Design. Before pursuing art Anne was educated as a translator
and is fluent in French and English. Together they have over 10
years of experience in the creative field. In the past they have
worked on projects with clients and companies such as: Pepsico,
Harve Benard, Invesco, Novartis, Schieffelin and Somerset, Audiovox,
Best Foods, Brookstone, Smokey Joe's Café - the Songs of
Lieber and Stoller, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oxford University
